Children are entirely suited to hypnotherapy and often respond incredibly well to therapy with amazing results even in one session. Hypnotherapy is a gentle and relaxing treatment for bedwetting, phobias in children, exam worries or many other problems that children may encounter as they grow up. Many parents that seek help for their child have tried other treatments but find hypnotherapy is a fast and effective treatment for many worries.
At my Clinics I see children and teenagers for hypnotherapy from about 7-17 years of age. Children under the age of 16 are always accompanied by a parent or guardian (usually the one the child 'gets on with the most') who is actively encouraged to participate in the session.
The 'Blowaway' technique for children.
This single session hypnotherapy technique has been especially designed for use with children to help them resolve their anxiety, worry or phobia. The technique, utilising hypnosis, is aimed at removing obstacles to the child's development, so that the child will progress to be the best person they possibly can be.
The session begins with a very informal chat with parent and child and a brief explanation of the 'blowaway technique' - at all times making sure the child is really comfortable and feels relaxed and at ease. During the hypnotherapy part of the session, the Blowaway technique means the child is encouraged to take a deep breath and 'blow away' any negative emotions or 'bottled up' feelings...resulting in both a reduction of anxiety or stress within the child and a corresponding increase in self-esteem and confidence.
The session ends with relaxation and positive hypnotic suggestions to help the child to feel better and more confident in life.
The blowaway technique is often a fun, interesting, informal and very liberating experience for both parent and child!
